Hi! I'm worried about my cat's health, I hope someone can help me with an advice.
I will try to describe the situation the best I can, so I'm sorry if the post is a bit long.

Two months ago I adopted a cat which was around my house all the time. I don't think she was a stray cat since she looked very clean, wasn't thin and was very friendly with people, she was probably abandoned. She didn't seem to have a problem being in the house all the time, so I decided to keep her in since my neighbours are not cat friendly. I thought she was even spayed, but then about one month ago she went into heat and it lasted about 6-7 days.

About one week after the heat ended, she would lay in a little bit weird positions, like she had some kind of discomfort in her back or abdominal area. I didn't pay too much attention since she was eating well and was playful. She was like that for 7-8 days.

After 7-8 days of being like that, one day she didn't want to eat and she looked like she was in pain, she had hunched walk. I saw that her stool was very hard and small and there was hair in it (she's long haired). Since I had a bunnies I'm familiar with constipation problems, and I started giving her malt paste and wet food only.Next day I took her to the vet to see if it really is constipation and to see if he can help her. He said that he couldn't really feel any hair balls, but it probably is constipation and told me if she doesn't get better in day or two he will give her enema.

Two days ago I noticed a few drops of blood where she was sitting, but I thought it's from constipation. It happened again yesterday, so I took her to another vet since the first one wasn't working that day. All this time she had poor apetite, kept going to litter box and had just a few pieces of very small, hard stool. She was urinating normally and I didn't notice any blood in urine. The other vet said he thinks it's inflamation and he gave her antibiotics and some vitamins, and said two come back in two days for another shot of antibiotics. She started to eat again and looked like she's feeling much better.

Today she is back to her old self, eating a lot, playing, no signs of any problems other than one drop of blood on sheet where she was sleeping. I googled it and found out about pyometra and how dangerous it is and now I'm really worried. I would take her to a good vet to who would check her with ultrasound and do blood tests, but the nearest one with that kind of equipment is about 100 km away. I'm really worried, but I'm afraid such a long drive would be a hassle for her and I don't know if it's necesarry. Do you think it's possilbe she has pyometra and I should take her to that vet or do you think it's enough to keep my eye on her since she doesn't show any signs of being ill anymore?

Thank you very much for your responses.

I do think it's possible that it's pyometria. Did she have a fever at all?

I didn't notice she had higher temperature, but I know it's hard to tell just by touch. I'll take her to vet for antibiotic tomorrow and I'll ask him to check her temperature.

I forgot to add that the blood was coming from genital area and it was clear blood, no pus.

Today there was a little bit of blood again where she was sleeping. I'm afraid there's more of it, but I only see it where she sleeps or stays for a bit longer and doesn't get to lick it off.

I will take her to the old vet for another shot of antibiotics later, but I am also definitely going to take her to a good vet with all diagnostic equipment on Monday. Better to take a longer drive with her even if it's not something serious than to risk her life by not treating a dangerous condition. I just hope she's going to be fine till then. She's still in a very good mood and having a good appetite.
