After getting home from Thanksgiving Dinner today, while everyone was getting ready one of our cats some how managed to get itself into the dyer and close the door. Closing the door on the dryer automatically turned it on. I'm not sure how long the poor thing was stuck in there, but it managed to push the door open after some time and when I went in the laundry room I heard panting. I got the poor thing out of the dry and quick ran and started to soak towels of cold water to wrap him up in(Not ice to prevent shock.). He has pretty bad burns on his ears, mouth and whiskers some and possibly some eye damage. But the rest of his body, seemed OKAY. . . . Now today was the worse possible day for this to happen. There is literally NO open vets for miles, to get to the closest would take over 6 hours. . . After a good while of keeping him in cold towels and changing them out, his panting stopped and he became full conscious again. Now it seems like he was in a decent amount of pain, which is obvious because of the burns, but it seemed like he was out of the woods and just needed time and to see the vet in the morning. . . After awhile he started trying to get up and run and just trying to walk out the pain, but he's still having huge problems walking well and just falls down. All of this was no major surprised to me and I figure that he was going to make it and be okay. . . BUT just a few minutes ago while changing out one of his towels I noticed a spot of blood and because he had no open wounds that I knew of I started searching him. . I finally fount out that it was coming from his anus. He seems to have a good amount of blood coming out of his anus now. . . I'm not sure if this is internal bleeding or if this is just something less dangerous. His abdomen does not seem hard like you would expect from internal bleeding, but it just seems to be a lot of blood. . . . Please someone tell me what I should do, should I try getting him thru til the morning so I can maybe get him to a vet? Or should I go ahead and put the poor thing out of its misery. I hate to do it, our pets are just like family to us. But it's killing me to see him in so much pain.

PS: He recently started relaxing and now mowing/thrashing around in pain

Please help.

Call your vet and see if their answering machine will refer you to an animal emergency clinic that's open all hours. Good luck to you!

How are things going now? I agree that you should call every vet in the area.
