Hi everyone :wavey:

Another easy question for you this Thursday :D

Have you ever broken a bone ?

I guess ive been lucky, I've never broken any bones. But, I did crack my head open in two places as a child when I fell off my bike once. That just involved a lot of stitches and hurt pride :lol3:

Yes, but not many.

I fractured a toe when a cab ran over it when :doh3: SO embarrassing - totally my own fault (I was running for a bus on the other side of the road and not paying attention :anon: ), and I was mortified. To make it even worse, it was right outside the entrance to a hospital, but they insisted on sending an ambulance to take me in - I swear, the door was only a few hundred yards away. A wheelchair would have been MORE than adequate :emba: That was maybe 13-14 years ago.

I cracked my ribs a few summers ago, when Collie (my pony) threw me at speed into the arena fence. To be fair to her, she was majorly spooked at the time....but that didn't make it hurt any less! We BOTH needed some confidence building after that incident (I've been riding since I was a kid, and that was the first (and only) serious injury I've ever had).

I think I did stub my little toe hard enough to fracture it.  My whole foot in the area around my toes was badly bruised and it hurt for a good two weeks.  I didn't bother going to a doctor because there isn't anything they can do for a broken little toe.  Other than that no broken bones.

Yes, I've broken my right arm twice. Once when I was 8 or so while roller skating and the second time about 25 years ago. I was walking my dog in the dark, he lunged forward, and I tripped on a rabbit hole. The pain was so bad I nearly fainted trying to get home.

Unfortunately yes....

I broke my upper arm, near the shoulder in 2012..developed shoulder issues so bad that I had to have some surgery on my shoulder and had to give up my career.. Yes, 30+ years in that career, plus have permanent limitations on that arm.. I could face more surgery if I wish--no thank you....

I've broken ribs and my nose, but I think they are common injuries.  Last February it was raining and the temperature was at freezing.  I walked around the front of my house and there was no ice.  I assumed there would be no ice on the back steps.
I went to feed my ferals in my bathrobe and slippers.  I hit those steps at full speed and I went flying.  Both slippers flew off and I hit hard, in pain.  I lay there a few minutes (?) in the freezing rain.   It was a bad fall and I was in shock.  I had to get up and get out of the rain before I got a chill.  I want back inside and lay down on my bed.  I did not get to the doctor until 30 hours later.  I had broken my fibula near my knee, in addition to spraining my ankle badly.  I saw the x-ray and the fibula was separated.

As bad as the fall was, I felt lucky that I had just broken my fibula.  I could have hit my head, hurt my back or my hip or torn some ligaments.  They did not even give me a cast, just an elastic wrap to hold the bone together while it healed.  I've had much worse pain and I could get around, even climb stairs as long as I took them one at a time.  It's eight months later and I can hardly tell it was broken.  People have looked at me funny when I say how lucky I was, but really, it could have been so much worse.

Yes, I broke my left 4th toe January 2 years ago.  I got up in the night to turn my mom.  She was in a hospital bed and I hit the same toe on BOTH sides of the bed - barefoot of course - and yelled out loud it hurt so bad.  What a way to wake up yourself and your mom at 4am, lol.  The next day it was every color of the rainbow including Carolina blue.

I have severe osteoporosis and I have had two fractures. I had a stress fracture in my shin and I broke a bone in my foot when I fell down.

Yes. I'm an unfortunate mix of clumsy and stupid.

I broke my little finger by falling into a drain when I was six. I was trying to balance on the little brick wall that went around the drain entrance.

I broke my collar bone when I fell of a pony when I was 12. (I've had a couple of concussions from suddenly parting company with a horse too.)

Broke my thumb and cracked my elbow falling off a motorbike, trying to take a corner faster than I should have.

Hmmmm, there might have been others, but that's all that comes to mind for now.

Not that I know of. I may have broken a toe at some point (at least it hurt for a long time) but didn't go to the doctor. But nothing else!

At age 65 had my first broken bone on October 11. Broke the radius bone in my dominant right wrist. Scary experience, but cast is off & I am doing ok.

I fell off a roof a few years ago and my harness caught me half way down and I slammed right up against a Window. Cracked my humeral head and busted my bursa on my shoulder on the upper part of the window, sprained my wrist grabbing the rope, and cracked the patella of my knee when it busted the window as well as leaving a nice gash on my leg... I ended up having to finish the job before leaving and had to pay for the window... Was not fun.

Yep, my fifth metatarsal (little toe). I told everyone I broke it getting out of bed, I actually did it dancing around the flat.
