So, i have two cats: one female calico who's chubby, Molly; and one male tuxedo who's athletic and skinny, Theo.

Ever since Molly started getting fat, I've been trying to find a way to put her on a diet. It's difficult separate their food, because neither of them ready all their food at once and there's no place that one can get to and not the other.

For the longest time, i tried simply restricting the amount of food i gave them. It didn't work very well, as Molly would just wind up eating some of Theo's food, too, so they'd both teeter around the same weight.

Recently, Molly has been eating way to fast and then throwing up, so i got this Catit Senses feeding tower, where they have to knock the food down through a few levels with holes in them in order to make the food fall in to the tray below, where they can eat it. It's been fantastic! The same amount of food is lasting longer, so they're not as hungry throughout the day, and Molly doesn't throw up every time she eats! PLUS, Molly is finally slowly starting to lose some weight!

Bad thing is, Theo seems to be losing some weight, too. He was already at a healthy weight, so he doesn't need to lose any. I'm starting to feel his backbone and ribs more than i would like to when i pet him. He still seems really happy and energetic, though.

Is this something i should be concerned about? And if so, does anyone have advice on how to let him get some extra extra food, while keeping Molly on the feeding tower with the same amount of food?

This may not be important, but i also give them a little spoonful of wet food every night as a treat, and sometimes fill up a little weeble-wobble treat dispenser with cat treats or dehydrated chicken when i go to work.

the only thing I can think of is to feed Theo a higher calorie wet food when you give them their little spoonful every evening, or add in an egg yolk to his every couple of days.  Egg yolks are very nutritious, and pretty caloric, all things considered.   Otherwise, unless you can sequester him and give him additional food, not sure what you can do.

I have two cats kind of in the same boat.  One is on a perpetual diet, the other doesn't care a thing in the world about food.  So...when I dole out treats, I give the foodie very small bits of treats, AND I toss his down the hall so he gets some exercise running after them (which he seems to actually really enjoy
), and I give his brother bigger pieces of the treats, and more of them, since I keep his brother occupied running around down the hall
.  I can control the size of the treats because I actually use dehydrated raw food that I can break up into any size I want, and I feel good about feeding it too.

Possible  way to separate  them and  temporarily try to give  each cat    their food in  different  areas? Also  has  Molly been spayed? If yes she  should eat    food for spayed  tabbies.
