Just taken a picture of my poor Portia's fur
I wanted to ask people if they have seen ringworm before on their cats or know if this could be ringworm? It appeared literally overnight, 2 weeks ago and we are not sure if it's healing-I try to clean it delicately with cooled boiled water on a cotton pad it's very sore and painful for her;  It's weeping and crusting over, ring-shaped and the fur is gone or broken off. We are taking her to the vet for a general check up soon and using our common sense when it comes to basic hygiene. We are very worried and need advice, we don't want to make it worse by doing any home medical care

I'm not sure.  To me, it doesn't really look like it, but then again, I'm not an expert on ringworm.  But I thought ringworm was more itchy than painful, and that looks extremely painful.  If I were you, I'd get her in to be seen sooner than later.  And, besides, it if IS ringworm, you want to start the treatment ASAP.  If it isn't, to be it looks like it might be infected, and for that she probably  needs some antibiotics

THIS thread shows what ringworm looks more like:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/330015/is-this-ringworm#post_4144729
