My kitten is 6 months old and weights probably under 5 pounds...he was weighted about a month ago and was 3 pounds. We got Revolution for him (doctor recommended it) but he was still itchy. Today i found a flea crawling on his face and quickly killed it. Any brands you guys recommend and have luck with? I also thing he may have tapeworms......but I'll see what the doctor gives us for that. Thanks in advance!

He's also indoor only but occasionally walks out in the front patio with supervision (if that's helpful)

I bathed my kitten with blue dawn dish soap and it took care of her fleas. I recommend letting it stay on for a few minutes after you work up a lather because it will suffocate the fleas. Just watch to make sure kitty doesn't try to lick the soap off.

I posted this earlier for someone else

Try to bathe her. Do it in kitchen sink. Put a towel on the bottom of the sink so her paws won't slide all over. Thoroughly wet her with nice warm water. Put a teeny weeny dab of dish detergent on her fur & thoroughly wash her. Add more detergent if necessary but you don't want tons of soap to rinse off. Rinse her off & towel dry her as much as you can. Do all this as quickly as you can.

Okay :) I've been bathing him like that for a while (about once a month so he gets accustomed to it). Hoping the bath helped him with the fleas, I haven't seen him itching yet but fingers are still crossed! Thank you!

Topicals (revolution, advantage, etc) take a couple months to work "well".
But, even the 1st dose will begin to work, but, probably not as quick as you expect (since the label makes you think almost immediately...it's just not that way).

Fleas on the nose, and/or fleas you can easily see..... either means SEVERE infestation, OR, the stuff is working.
When it starts working, the fleas get really active trying to get away from the cats skin.  This means they are away from the skin, in the fur, or doing their best to get away and you can see them.
The nose is usually one of the places they end up.
Fleas, instead of walking the plank....walk the nose.

I have experience with fleas since my little Shadow had them when I first got him.

If there is one there are normally more so the best thing to do would be to give him a bath with dawn soap first and give him a good scrubbing. He will protest it but it will kill the ones that are one him. After that you can towel dry him and use a flea brush to get more of them off of him. I used a topical treatment of front line and kept him in the bathroom for two days while it took effect. It should get rid of the fleas for the most part.
