My friend's cats keep dying suddenly. I want to help her so I'm turning to you all for advice.

I'll get right to the point. I've known my friend since junior high (we're both in our mid 30s now). She loves animals. She has two sons. They both have pets of their own (a lizard and a gerbil I think). I'm telling you this because in the last couple of years, she has lost three cats very suddenly. The cats all came from different shelters, all had a clean bill of health from their vets, and all were very young. One was just a little over a year old.

What has happened is that they'll be fine one day, then the next day they will become very, very sick. Not moving, not eating or drinking and pass away within a few days thereafter.

My first thought was that someone might have poisoned them, but they never go outside. My friend also doesn't use any kind of poisons (like mouse poison) or anything they could get into like that.

Her two boys were distraught over the loss of the cats. They loved them very much so I don't think they would have harmed them.

She feeds them normal Purina cat food. Nothing out of the ordinary.  So what on earth could cause this to happen to three different cats so suddenly?

Not sure where you live, but could there be black mold in the house?  Our backyard neighbors have lost 2 cats because they have black mold in their house.
