How do you know that's safe for cats?
Research and experience. I've used it before when an animal in my care was sick and it's always helped to clear up whatever the problem was. Have been doing this for years now. I take it myself. How do you know that's safe for cats?
I know that. I was just stating that I take it too. And I'm working on that. Took the day off today to look after him. What is safe for humans is not necessarily safe for cats - for example, aspirin can be fatal to felines. Please do get him to a vet.
Do you know the name of the plant these come from? If you know the scientific name, that would be especially helpful. I'm just curious as I've not heard of this before.
Couldn't make it to the vet tonight so I had my mom boil some herbal bush leaves and gave it to him. He's been urinating less frequently and isn't peeing outside the litter box. He is also starting to cause trouble like he did before he got sick.
Just found a vet and made an appointment. I'll be down there in the next hour.

Thank you. He is showing signs of improvement. Less urinating on the ground and more in the litter box.
It can take 24 hrs for meds to start working. If you don't see any improvement within 72 hours, then call the vet back.
Vet said he's not allowed to have wet food right now. Only the food she prescribed.
Make sure you clean the areas outside the box with enzymatic cleaner. Also, you might want to change his diet to mostly wet food if you're currently feeding dry.
Hi I've got 2 cats I live in Scotland. Just joined the site. I'm so sorry you're having these problems with your cat. You must be sick with worry. Really hope everything's fine. I'll keep checking how the wee man is NicoleVet said he's not allowed to have wet food right now. Only the food she prescribed.
Vet has no knowledge of a raw diet. That is why I asked here. She told me to look into it.I used to have a tomcat with this problem, Nimbus. It seemed that anything with fish in it also made the crystals more likely. Our vet did surgery on him, to shorten his urinary tract so that it would be less painful for him, but that didn't exactly cure it. You can do a lot keeping him on the correct diet. Follow your vet's advice on this. If you'd like to put Felix back on raw, ask your vet for ways to do it that won't aggravate the problem.
