My 13 week old Kitten, Binx, had diarrhea on Friday, and again this morning.  He's been eating a little less and drinking quite a bit more water than seems normal (although I have only had him for about ten days so I can't be totally sure yet about what's normal for him).

Is there anything I should be doing for him?  Does he need to go to the vet?  Should I give him any specific type of food, or not give him food for a little while?  I've never had a cat before, so any advice would be helpful.

Kittens have very sensitive digestive systems and get diarrhea easily from changes in their food. Kittens are also susceptible to worms. If you haven't had him checked by a vet yet you should do that to rule out a medical issue causing the diarrhea. If that's clear, you could look into giving him some probiotics to help regulate his digestive system. I gave all my kittens daily probiotics, and still do with my adult cats.

He's drinking a lot of water to try to calm his tummy. Because he's so young, you need to get him to the vet quickly as little ones can become dehydrated easily.  He also need to be checked for parasites.  Have you changed his food?
