Is this a tapeworm

I would say yes. Have you seen his feces? If you see grainy-white segments of a worm wiggling around in his feces, that is a sure sign of a tapeworm.

Thankyou, cat poops outside in neighbours garden so can't see poop. Rang the vet and described it and she agreed...off to get a tablet

You will need to treat for the tapeworms again in two weeks.

Do you use a flea treatment? Is your guy neutered?

Yes he has advocate and no balls....vet has said I will have to get him treated again in 2weeks. Luckily they saw him in July so don't need to attempt to get him in the cat cage
