I remember months ago I was reading on this website about a wand people were using to pet feral cats but I couldn't find where I saw it, what is name of wand and where did you all buy it! thank you and thank you for taking care of all the ferals,  it is getting cold!

It is not something you purchase, it is something I made.  I used an old sturdy wand toy and just used the wand.  I then wrapped a clean sock around the end and secured with duct tape.  I then wrapped a piece of soft flannel around it.  

I would then start by using the wand to get the cats attention, using it more as a toy.  Once interested, you can then begin to lightly touch the cat.  I find that often first touches are best when they are not facing you as this way they do not see it coming.  Just a few light touches.  Once the cat begins to like it, you can start by using it on the tops of the head and even under the chin.  The process can take a few weeks depending on how the cat reacts to it.  I have had some love it within a few days and others it scared so badly I had to put it away for awhile.  I also have occasionally added a bit of catnip to the soft end.
