We aren't sure when she could have the kittens. She sits with her tail up (kind of like she's in heat but she's not) she's real sensitive on her lower back and she scratches at our closet but we have a birthing box already. We can also feel the little babies moving around.

they will come 2-3 weeks after you begin to feel the kittens move.  You had already began to feel them, so.   She isnt very big, so the litter probably isnt very big.

she is a small cat, she's real young herself. I think she may have at least 4 from how big she is. But we see just got let outside and I just knew she was gonna have babies. Her owner wasn't sure

Do you plan to spay her after this litter?
Yeah she's actually my aunts cat. But we have been living with her. She said she wants to spay her after the litter, once she gets stronger again

Mom can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old. She should not go outside or be around any intact males until she is spayed. She can get pregnant again at any time.

How is she doing now?

She's doing pretty good. Getting a little more loveable. I think she'll have them soon but not like this week or anything. As I took the picture you could see the little babies moving around lol. I can't wait.

What does it mean when they say the cats stomach dropped? How would you know it was? And when it does does that mean she's close to birth?

What you see, she "suddenly" is less obvious pregnant.  From a big swallowed basketball she has just a mini swallowed basketall.   Some even suspect she may have already delivered somwhere...  What happens is the kittens move forward into birthing positions, and also move less - its more tight for them.   So yes, delivery is to wait soon, is close, say  inside 48 hours.

So she had her litter of 3 as I guessed! They are all boys two black and white and one black. Two are bobtailed [emoji]128525[/emoji]. And I missed the birth [emoji]128557[/emoji]. She had them the day after I left for Tennessee for thanksgiving. Anyway here's a picture

Interesting to see, a Van patterned momma got tuxedo-kittens.  The same coloration, but quite different pattern.

Congrats to momma, ittens and grandmomma!

Here's the babies. The solid black one is the runt for sure. He is the tiniest one and weakest. But he's being taken care of! He and one other kitten were born without tails. [emoji]128516[/emoji]

Are you able to weigh them every day? The little one may need to be supplemented.

No we don't weigh him. But I've been watching him and the two others and they're getting pretty big and I make sure they all get milk. He's doing great for the runt. They opened their eyes today

Weighing him is the best way to make sure that he is getting enough. A cheap kitchen scale will work well.

Okay guys who can give me any insight here. One of the kittens (not the runt) is losing weight quickly and my aunt called the vet said that he may have fading cat syndrome. He wasn't sure thought because he wasn't brought in. What's other possibilities other than diabetes and cancer for weight loss in kittens? Thanks

Ouch.  The most important is you supplement feed him.  Small portions but often.  Give glucose sugar on the lips and gum, to give more energy.  You can for example smear thick honey water on lips and gum....  If you can get raw goats milk, its excellent.  Ready made bottled or powdered goats milk is OK too, but not the same potential edge.  Of course, more common kmr is OK too.

Be sure the kitten is warm and comfortable...  And of course, the supplement fluids are body warm.

Amounts?  Depeniding on how much he gets from momma, the rule of thumb is 8ml / oz body weigh a day.  So a kitten of 300 g, 10 oz, gives 80 ml goats milk or kmr...

Dont think much on cancer nor diabetes, its rare, just act vigorously.  These kittens can usually be saved if you fight on.

Please come back with further reports...

Yes, if a kitten is losing weight, you must immediately begin supplementing every 1-2 hours around the clock, using kitten formula and a tiny 1-2 mL syringe.

I recommend powdered KMR by PetAg. Royal Canin and GNC are also good. Full fat goat's milk works well too.

You feed a newborn kitten tummy down, head up, a couple of drops at a time in the SIDE of the mouth, allowing time for the kitten to swallow and breathe, then give more. A kitten needs 1-2 mLs every 1-2 hours.

Sometimes it only takes suppplemental feedings for a few days to make a kitten strong enough to suckle efficiently from mama kitty.
