Joined Recently

Hi, I thought I would introduce myself.  I recently adopted two kittens.  My neighbor fostered the pregnant Mom, so I have known them since day 1.  There were 6 babies; 5 girls and 1 boy.  Mom is a medium hair orange classic tabby with white.  The boy is an orange tabby.  All the girls are some combination of calico, tortoise shell, tabby, and white.  I already have a Shih Tzu and two adult cats.  I tried to do everything "right" and the family blending has gone very well.  I am so pleased.  I am so in love with the babies.  They are the sweetest, dearest babies.  They are 4 months old.  I wonder how much of their existing personalities will remain as they get older.  Mom is an absolute peach.  Does anyone have any thoughts about the chances of them remaining as sweet as they are now?

Welcome to TCS!    Your kittens are beautiful and so is your Shih Tsu.  It's great they are getting along so well.   I don't have much experience in raising kittens so am afraid I can't answer your question about personality changes.  The one kitten I did raise from six months retained his sweet personality his entire 14 years.  However, I have read of kittens becoming more aloof as they grow older; also the other way around.  Hopefully someone with more experience will stop by and answer your question.  In the meantime, I just wanted to welcome you to this great site.  I think you'll find it's a terrific resource and that the people are very friendly and helpful.
