Hello

New here but felt i needed some advice. My little ollie was neutered today i picked him up expecting him to be lethargic but hes going totally nutty with no sign of settling!

Iv felt absolutely horrible for him going through the process but this morning he woke me up attempting to hump me then jumped on the cooker knocking the hop on setting fire to an oven mit and my daughters lunch box iv turned the cooker off at the mains from now on but any advice on cat proofing my home (as he's the first one iv had) is welcomed.

Anyway back to the neutering they said he'd be lethargic but not a chance. I bought him a new toy and some cat soup because they told me he'd have a weak stomach. the toys riled him up he's ran around and been more boysterous than usual and he had a pack of soup when he got home but from immediately after he's finished it he's been crying for more! I made him wait an hour after the first to make sure he kept it down but he's had 5 packs in the 5 hours he's been home (they are really small but it's still allot) as im writing this iv had to move because he wants to play and it's just impossible. Should i be worried about his stitches? or the fact he's super hyped?

Hold of on giving him more food. They like to puke after surgery. Give him another tonight. He might not know how much he's eating if they give him a shot for pain.

I've seen kittens go kitten crazy after a neuter. Especially when on pain meds. It's perfectly normal. He can't be allowed to run around the house right now though. His balls need to heal. Do you have a room where you can Confine him for a few days?

He's 6.5 months old.

He's calmed a bit with the food but is currently doing circles around the living room jumping from furniture to furniture iv never seen him this crazy before . If i try pick him up for cuddles he just attacks and wants to play and even if i shut him in one room he's still going crazy. Iv drawn my curtains as i think he see's the windowsill as his space when the curtains are shut and calms down but tonight he's just not interested but he's doing laps and he keeps running into stuff!

Maybe the bathroom then? If he slips and hits his balls that wouldn't be good. It sounds like they gave him some strong pain meds and he feels like Superman right now. Lol

I agree with @MingsMongols  he is probably still on a pain medication high (especially if you are giving him pain medications). My males have also all recovered fairly quickly from neutering and don't realize they are supposed to take it easy. They just know they have the kitten energy and the mean humans aren't playing as much.

thanks everyone for help,  he's started attacking me if i go anywhere near him and at one point he clung to my arm and was pushing it near that area he was clinging on for his life and his pupils went huge im confused to whether he was desperately trying to hump me or in pain. i m taking the day off tomorrow i think we need to spend some time together.
