New cat owner

Hi, my wife and I just picked up a kitten from the humane society today, we have both been dog owners our whole life but recently lost two dogs this past year, one to old age and the other to cancer.

We are brand new to cats and don't know much about them, we picked up some toys, litter box, and food for the cat. I believe it is called an orange tabby, and he is 3 months old. My son named him Blaze. I'll post up a pic in a little while.

Thank you for adopting this kitty and so sorry for your loss of your doggies. Cats are totally different from dogs and I'm sure you'll love your cat as much as your doggies as cats are really fun to own.

Thanks guys! Here's a couple pics. We thought our dogs puppy bowls would be small enough for the kitten but realized it's way too huge for it lol. We're using these container caps for now haha.

I would suggest that you use ceramic or metal bowls or plates. Plastics are prone to bacteria growth.
Get those that are wide enough but not deep so that the side will not get into Blaze's whiskers way. It'll irritate him while he's eating. Do remember to have fresh water all the time.

It'll be a good photo documention since Blaze is still so young and small. Do take lots of photos and do continue to share with us.
