I have 4 3-4 week old kittens I bottle fed them and are now eating and drinking but when they are awake they follow us constantly and cry we spend a lot of cuddle time with them but cry in our arms .they are healthy and pooping peeing and the mom got hit. They sleep on a rug I got and they suckle on it and then put them in. A large toy box with the rug and blanket. They are fine when sleeping but when awake they cry constantly it's driving everyone crazy help

First have they been checked by a vet. They need a sorce of heat like a heating pad or a warming light as well..need to be able to move off and on when needed. What are you feeding? Need a milk replacement available at Wal-Mart or your vet even a feed store. I usually add a tiny amount of rice cearal to the milk to make a gruel at this age for additional feeding when I am not around. You can ck with your local animal shelter or post in the vets office of your need for a momma but plz note if you take em to a shelter at this age the will more then likely be euthanize. You made it this far with them great job,,the crying will stop just takes time. Where are you located.....?

Are there teeth coming in? If so, it's time to start them on solids. They may be mewing because they're hungry. Give them canned cat food mixed with kitten formula to make a soupy mush. It might take a few tries before they get the idea.

I concur with the other posts that they may be hungry or cold. I hope that you are getting extra help with giving them bottles - the longer they get bottles, in addition to eating solid, the less likely they are to "suck wool" later on in life. More work now = easier cats later; I know this only too well....ahhh, the live of a cat rescuer ...Bless you for taking on the challenge

Definitely agree that if possible you get them all to a vet to get them checked out---a vet can help you with whether they're still hungry, cold, etc. Most shelters will also help with hands on advice as probably every volunteer /employee will have raised at least one bottle baby. And they may be able to help find a nursing mother to take them on - but that's tough to find. A shelter may have another foster home with experience to take them on if it's too overwhelming. If they can't, they'll hopefully offer emotional support and great advice.

I've raised many--and my experience is that if they're crying non-stop between feedings, something's off --too hungry (not getting enough at a feeding or not being fed often enough), too chilly, constipated, etc. Most little baby kittens do squeal and cry like crazy when they wake up hungry -But once they're fed, burped, and stimulated to eliminate---if they're warm and comfy, they generally go right to sleep till hungry again.

The link below is a great resource for info--I still refer to it sometimes!

Bless you SO much for taking them on--it is definitely stressful at times but is SO rewarding when they become healthy independent kitties!!!!

And please keep in touch with this forum - it's a great resource for info and a whole lot of broad shoulders to lean on!

I agree they are prob hungry and or cold-ish.  Having each other as company, they dont need to be THAT desperate for your company.

Make a nest of fleece,  it feels as fur.  Have a heating pad under part of this.

Food - goats milk or kmr.  Goats milk is probably cheaper, so use this.

Amounts: 8ml of these fluid / oz per day.  Say they are 300 grammes (its minimum at this age), gives 10 oz, gives minimum 80 ml a day of goats milk or kmr.

You will soon try to interest them in more substantial foods.  These are more energy tihgt, so the overall amout will be slightly lesser.

Still, you get the idea.

They should probably be dewormed - good if a vet look see on the to check out, and suggest a suitable dewormer.

Had they been flea infested?  if so, they may have tapeworms too.   They almost surely have round worms, most kittens have, unless from an inside only, properly dewormed momma.

Milbomax is mild and may be used already.  So are mild Pyrantel preparates.  But be sure which one you give - some OTC preparates arent safe.
