Our rescue is considering entering a Christmas parade this year and I need some ideas for a float!

We are a cat focused rescue, though we do take in the occasional dog (have one right now.)

We have the option of decorating a car, truck or a trailer.

Depending on weather, we could possibly include a few cats; but, thought we might could include oversized pictures of some of our adoptable kitties.

Any suggestions would be great!

Do you have a local photographer who would be willing to donate some of his/her time to take "glamour shots" of the adoptable animals in front of a Christmas/holiday themed background? Maybe a college student who is looking to get his/her work seen.

How about someone willing to dress as Santa Paws to go on the float to wave to everyone? I think it would be cute to have some teenagers dress as elves and walk behind the float handing out mini candy canes and fliers that have pictures of the animals on them. The float could also be decorated with pictures of the animals.

How about a few volunteers dressing up as cats? Doesn't have to be super fancy, whatever cat costumes you can find, just to grab some attention. Even cat ears and tails, and whiskers drawn on their faces would do if enough people do that. Can you add your own music? If so, people in cat costumes dancing on the trailer, or in front or behind of a truck, to some cat-themed music?

I like the idea of flyers/cards with adoptable cats on them and also large posters if you can maybe get a local printer to donate them for you. I don't know about bringing real live cats. It would probably be too stressful for them?
