The tick will eventually fall off but the cat can get sick from the bites.  .Unless she has some sort of treatment, she'll keep getting ticks and fleas, which are very harmful.

If you can, get her to the vet for an overall check-up.  If she is not fixed, this is a great time for that, too.

You may have to trap her and find a vet experienced with feral cats.  Is there a rescue/feral program near you you can contact for suggestions/help/support?

Don't worry about the tick, and don't try to remove it yourself because if you don't pull the entire tick out and leave a piece in, there could be more problems. As long as your cat is well-fed and well-nourished, the tick will become gorged in a few days and will fall off on its own. I went through the tick scare  a few times with my outdoor feral. I used to drizzle FrontLine Plus onto his shoulder blades while feeding him his favorite chicken dinner. He tolerated my doing this because he loved the chicken so much. Perhaps you could manage to apply the Frontline to your kitty while he's eating? After a few months, he will become accustomed to your doing this every month during the warm months. You can order Frontline Plus on ebay in multi-packs for about a fourth of the cost you would pay if buying from a vet's office or pet store. I can post a link if you need one.
