Pine Litter Dangerous

I was using Healthy Home Solutions pine litter and this made my cat go into dangerous asthmatic convulsions from which she could have died. I went to an emergency vet, but he was clueless. His nurse though suspected the pine cat litter and she was right. My cat could have died.

I'm sorry your cat was allergic to something in the litter.  It may not be the pine at all!  Healthy Home Solutions (by Arm & Hammer) is not just pine but PINE & CEDAR.  It may not be the pine at all that set off her asthma. There are lots of choices of litters these days and I hope you have found a good non-allergenic type for your cat.  I'm glad she didn't die.  Let us know what litter you ended up using with her.  I've heard that sWheatScoop is a good one, and some people opt for crystal litter.  I use pine pellets myself, but not all cats like pine pellets.
