Good morning

I have a cat that is 14 and she has decided to stop eating a day ago but is still drinking. She is going pee normal but she does have diarriha and it smells really bad. She isnt the type to get into anything so i dont understand why she is doing this. Any suggestions?

At her age, it really would be best to bring her to the vet. You don't want them to go too long without eating or it could really be a problem.

Good luck!

after 2 days of not eating cats become at risk for a very serious  liver illness which is usually much worse than the cause of the loss of appetite.  Please take your cat to a vet as soon as you can, it will be generally be MUCH cheaper to address now, than later.

Please let us know how it goes. Wishing you the very best results. I am taking Xena to the doctor today for a similar problem. She is eating a little, but not enough and has lost weight this past week. I'm scared. Don't mean to hijack your thread, just want you to know you are not alone and I wish to share with you. Welcome to TCS.

Called the vet and she said bring her in sounds serious exspecially for her age. So going to do some blood work on her tonight and this month is a discount for senior cats. Will let you know the results once I know something. Im scared and hope it isnt too serious.

Any time a kitty stops eating, that's a very serious sign. Hopefully it will be straight forward and your vet can help you treat it. At her age, I'd suspect kidney issues--but there are lots you can do for this these days.

Good Morning

So took my 14 year old cat Patches to the vet on Friday and found out she was dehydrated a bit not serious he said. So we gave her fluids and meds for her diarraha also did a blood test to see what was going on as well and will find out the results today. Woke up Saturday morning she was my old girl again meowing and i couldnt get a enough  food to her fast enough what a relief. Thank u everyone for your advice.
