Hello! My 2 year old female cat Bluebell has always had this small growth on the inside of her ear since she was a young kitten. I always remember her having it as far back as I remember. It's gray and black, being mostly the color of her skin tone and can be moved back and forth.

It does not bother her, and has not grown in size. I watch it frequently, and believe it is a skin tag. I always worry from reading things online though, and start to think it's something more even though it has never changed. Does this look like a skin tag for cats? Sorry my pics aren't great, she would not sit still!

It's hard to tell from these photos.  Have you spoken to your vet about it?

I actually scheduled an appointment for today. I asked the vet about it, and they said if it has never changed in size or shape it is most likely harmless, but if I wanted to come in today the vet could look at it, so we will just to ease my mind.

I think this is bothering me because one of our 3-yr old golden retrievers had a bump on his leg that was diagnosed as cancer and had his leg amputated. He is doing chemo now and is cancer free, but I think his scare has made me extremely paranoid about any little bump on any of the animals.

This cat is young and this tag has always been there and never changed, but we will get it checked today just to ease my mind!

Just got back from vet. Vet said she felt very confident it is just a skin tag. She said she can't be 100 percent certain without removing it and biopsy, but due to look and feel of it, was pretty certain it was a skin tag.

She gave me some estimates to get it removed as the safest option, but said she also felt it was a good option to leave it and monitor it. She thought if it hasn't changed in 2 1/2 years since kittenhood, it was most likely harmless. We will just alway watch it, but atleast has given me some relief.
