Hi. I'm struggling to come to terms with the loss of my beloved Bluebell this morning.

Here is a copy of her labs - her creatine was the highest the vet had ever seen. She went downhill very suddenly after being diagnosed, and is now at rest. The vet said one of her kidneys was very large.

I suppose I'm trying to find a reason, and would appreciate thoughts on the possibilities it was sudden onset of CKD symptoms, AKD, kidney infection or possibly a kidney tumour.

She was chubby (loved her food), with a beautiful thick glossy coat and was eating and drinking lots right up until she crashed two weeks ago.

If your Vet can't tell anything from her bloodwork about what caused it, I doubt WE can, because we're not professionals.  Well, some folks here are medical doctors, but still...

I'm wondering if it's possible Bluebell got hold of some medications or something.  Even just a tylenol or aspirin or a GRAPE or certain other foods or plants (lillies)  might be enough to cause Acute Kidney Disease in a cat, as far as I know.  I know anytime I drop one of my pills, I start to panic.  I didn't mention it on your other thread about your furbabies, because I didn't want you to start blaming yourself IF there is anything you might have inadvertantly done, but it could even by something as simple as a household cleaner they got into.  You just never know.

My Tinky is so much my shadow that he wants to be right there even when I clean the toilet
.  I have to shoo him away because I'm afraid even just the brushing of the blue stuff around the rim might get on him and then...who knows
.  After having had three kidney cats, I'm not taking any chances.

How's your other cat doing with everything...the CKD AND Bluebells death?
