Hello everyone! I have a sweet sweet 6 month old baby who isn't feeling the greatest. She has been throwing up the past few days, but no hairball. Today she woke up and wasn't hungry so I took her to the vet. He checked her out and found her perfectly healthy, no temperature, no swelling in the tummy, healthy heart and lungs, etc. He seems to think she is attempting to pass a hairball and gave me some jelly stuff to help her pass it. I'm just worried because she still hasn't really eaten today and I can't help but worry about my baby. Just wondered has anyone had a kitty that took a few days to pass a hairball?

I can understand why you are worried, and I would be too.

Do you know if she has had anything to drink, or might have found something to eat other than what you have put in her bowl?    Do you know how long it is since she last had anything to eat?

Have you tried her with anything different to her usual food?   Sometimes cats need something different to get them eating again, and if they haven't eaten for a while they can start to feel nauseous so don't want to eat.    Even some gravy is better than nothing, and sometimes taking from a spoon or finger is preferred to the usual bowl.

She's been drinking lots of water. She hasn't eaten since last night. And a few treats earlier. She's been kind of playful tonight but not her usual self. I am going to drop her back at the vet in the morning and leave her for tests. I don't think I'll sleep tonight though! Thank you for responding :)

Keep trying, and maybe with wet food that has been watered down a bit.   If you have anything like a plastic syringe with wide opening she might lick watered down food from that, or accept you squeezing a little in to the side of her mouth to lick at and swallow.   It might seem like spoiling her, but even treats are better than nothing when a cat hasn't eaten for a long time.

I'm glad you are taking her back to the vet, it is too worrying when they won't eat.

I ended up rushing her to the emergency vet that night in Savannah! She was just getting worse and then pooped up what looked like a worm and it freaked me out! Turns out she had TAPEWORMS! The vet said she likely had them from when I rescued her (found her in the Wal Mart parking lot when she was just a tiny little 1lb baby). After some medicine, x-rays, and lots of cash later :) She was fine. She started eating the next day and is back to normal. What a scary experience. Thank you for checking on us!

Wow, thank you for the update - while it must have been pretty shocking and unpleasant it is so good to hear she is now doing well.  I hope you now see her growing and thriving and behaving like the lively kitten she should be.
