Sucking on ear lobe!

I have 2 cats, brother and sister, who are 10 years old. My male Cat Damian, to this day, tries to suck on my ear lobe. He acts like a dog most of the time as he likes a lot of attention and jumps all over people. He always tries to get me to pick him up. As soon as I do, he goes for the ear. Every once in a while he is succesful, but then I get slober all over my neck. I have had them since they were 6 weeks old. I was told that their mother was hit by a car and died, and they were placed with another litter. So I am thinking that Damian feels like I am his mother and never grew out of being a kitten, cause he definately acts like one!

my boyfriends daughters kitten snuggles would curl right up to you and suck on your ear too. kara would let him do it all day till her ear was raw!! i guess it reminds them of their mommy! if you wouldn't let him get your ear he would suck right on your nose...what a weird kitty!

Buffy did the same thing, though she sometimes went for my eyelids (which tickled like mad). Her momma died when she was 4 weeks old, and I turned into a mother for her, giving her her milk formula, making sure she slept with me, making sure she was safe from Willow's wrath (eventually, Willow saw that Buffy was harmless, and she turned into Buffy's kitty-mom, while i'm the human-mom). To this day, Buffy treats me much differently than she does the rest of the family. She seeks my attention more than the others; when she wants something, she goes to me; when she's tired, she sleeps by me, etc. Its the sweetest thing...

She doesn't suck on my neck, ears, or eyelids anymore, but I can still feel the sensation of it like it's happening right now, lol

Miikka has a blanket that she will sit and suck while kneading for hours and then fall asleep on it... Quite the slobbery blanket when she is done..

This behavior really seems to calm her down if she is agitated or aimlessly meowing around the house.

Awwww thats so cute what your babies do!. A chap i work with said his two year old kitty nibbles his ear.

LOL! Saki loveeees to lick my earlobes. It is seriously the cutest thing. He will climb onto me in the morning and I hear the loud motor purrring right in my ear as he is frantically licking my lobe. He will go from one ear to the other and then eventually plop down on my neck and snooze for a few, purring. It is so cute.

Willow does the exact same thing! She grabs onto my blanket, and starts kneading my ankles at the same time. She's normally an agitated and nervous cat, and she does seem to calm down when she does that. It calms me down too

I've had my cat since birth and his mother was run over when he was 1 week old. He sucks on my upper lip. We call it giving kisses. He does it every morning and whenever he is tired. He will do it for as long as we let him, like 20 minutes!!! It makes my lip raw sometimes! He is now 4 years old and still does it. The vet is amazed by it. It's cute if you like cats but my dad thinks it's sooo gross. LOL

Rocket my abby will come up on me at night and knead my hair and tries to suck on my ear but unfrotunately I have three hoop earrings I leave in( I got them to signify certain parts of my life, strange but true) and one on the top of my ear that I also leave in and he gets his teeth caught on them and pulls them hard so I had to stop him(sadly) from doing it. I tired to get him to do it on the other ear, but he won't. He also won't knead my hair on my right side, always the left, maybe he doesn't want to fall off the bed? (I sleep on the outside.)

You can try putting bitter apple on your ear lobes to discourage the behavior, and maybe offer (train her) on a different body part (a finger?) so to give her something to suckle on....
