We think hes starting to give up :( Hes been lethargic all day, hasn't been lifting his head.. I am scared for the worst. I am really hoping we can make it to Monday!
I'm so sorry to hear this.

But remember, you gave him comfort before he passed.  He could have died alone and scared, or worse a brutal death from critters or a car accident, BUT, you provided him a peaceful place in your loving care.

Hang in there.  You did good, no matter how this turns out.  You made a difference.

Best to you.  Warm regards, Hope

Well now hes purring what moving his head like he was yesterday. We think it was because he was shaken up because of what happened last night... what happened last night is he SOMEHOW crawled out of his laundry basket(that uses nice soft blankets) and crawled all the way back under the bed! He was shaking VERY much this morning! We were very worried when we didn't see him in the cat box. However, we still have 1 main concern at the immediate moment.. he hasn't pooped. We got him on Tuesday but he is yet to poop. We are very worried about that, thinking that part of his body is shut down potentially. Also, he lets me touch all his legs no issue.. even his dislocated one which I usually touch to put it in a natural position when hes laying down or something.

Is he just weak from not eating?  I"m sorry I didn't read all the posts, but if he is weak from not eating, you can smear some sugar water on his gums to give him some calories.  I think even honey can be used.

No, luckily he is eating a lot!
Though he hasn't been able to get all of that food to go out the other end.

If he was starved before, so that his intestines were completely empty, it takes a few days for enough poop to build up to push the rest out :tongue2:. So hopefully that's what's happening. If you add a few drops of oil to his food, it can help grease things up to make it easier when he does go.

Keep up the good work!

That is what my mother was thinking.. considering on Wednesday(on Tuesday we only fed him with a syringe, not a needle, just like a tube but not that big, big enough to feed medicine and stuff into his mouth), he ate the entire can! We took a suggestion from I forgot who, to feed him pumpkin, so we gave him a plate of canned pumpkin, he didn't eat much, but we will see if he will eat more later.

On the bright side of things, his normal pain medicine wore off, and he has been active as ever tonight despite what I said earlier! For the first time he gave himself a bath... and he doesn't appear to be in pain, I guess that 1 inflammatory medicine is enough! So we will stick to just giving him that for a while!

UPDATE: HE FINALLY POOPED! I'm seeing good things!

Awww that's good!  Yay for poopie!  (Are we weird or what? Lol)  I was thinking too that a little bit of honey might even stimulate him to go.  Sometimes sugar has a laxative effect.  So there's one more thing to keep in the back of your mind in case constipation happens again.

No need to feel bad about the noise sounds, etc part, how would you know unless you'd been through this before??

The idea of this is, resting the brain allows faster recovery and helps with inflammation, which is really key for recovering.

The more noises, light, etc is brain stimulating and distracts it from focusing on healing itself, which it has an amazing capability of doing.

At the same time though, emotionally he needs support too, so giving him loving is important also, if you can just have a one on one with the barking dog to get him to cooperate for a bit that would be a good thing :)

Happy poop dance

Glad to hear he is going to the vet!

I'm joining in with the'happy poop dance' too.

This little one is a fighter and alive because of the love and care you are offering, and keeping him warm and safe until you can get him to a vet.   Big positive vibes for all to continue to pick up over the next 24 hours and see him getting to the vet on Monday for a thorough check up.   What a rascal clambering out of his little pen.

I'm glad he has settled down again after that little adventure.  It is so hard to keep kittens safe.

Joining in the Happy Poop Dance!

You and your parents are so awesome for rescuing this little one! Thank you! He's so cute, I just want to snuggle him up. :)  I love black cats - I believe they're good luck.

About his eyes: your description made me think of the late singer David Bowie. I don't know if this could be applied to animals or not, but I don't see why not. http://blog.optoprep.com/the-truth-behind-david-bowies-eyes

Just wanted to let you know that me and 2 my fur-babies are following you and the little guy's progress and cheering you both on - paws crossed for good news Monday!

Yeah, thanks! He was such a rascal doing that, probably looking for me or my mother :p We moved him to a much bigger cardboard box so it can't happen again.

Curious, does he turn in circles?
Hard to describe, and he really doesn't do it any more. In fact, he is walking around now.. on all 3! My mother thinks he might just have a broken paw as she sees him barely using the rest of the front right arm.. but imo his arm is fully disabled one way or another.

Then he is healing his trauma, a very good sign is him walking without circles or falling over from loss of balance.

Checking in to see if there are any updates and sending more positive thoughts for this little guy.   Fingers all crossed for the vet visit.

Thanks guys! The doctor didn't mention the trauma, so we believe it will just heal on its own! As far his leg goes.. his brachial plate was broken. He had a small hole in his arm.. which they patched up. His nerve was severed. Me most likely will need a amputation in the far future. They de-wormed him and got the ticks off of him. They were kind and did 6 X-Rays for the price of 1 checking the rest of his body. Over all, he is doing great!

Again everyone, I very much appreciate your guys's help! This kitten will live a healthy life with us.. so now we have 5 sets of whiskers to feed. We are keeping him since it would be very hard to find a home for a disabled cat. Again, thanks!

Despite what the doctor told us.. his nerve can't be severed! He was trying to move it, and starting to move it, and kind was when we were trying to get him to play with a toy! The doctor said the nerve could heal over time.. but this is amazing!
