Do adoption programs test for FIV?

I'm worried about my 3 year old cat. She's had bad teeth all her life and had 13 teeth extracted 2 weeks ago. Now that the infection is gone in her mouth, she has a bad case of conjunctivitis for the past week.

I've always thought she may have FIV. The vet recently tested her for FEV, but not sure if they ruled out FIV.

All the adoption programs I know of test for FIV. Where in general are you located?

Our shelter gives full medical records to new owners. This should show whether they tested for FIV and what the results were.

One of my cats developed eye problems after her teeth were extracted - it was a herpes flare up due to the stress.  She had never exhibited herpes before in her life, but about 4-5 days after the dentist, I came home from work one day and her eyes were goopy and would barely open and she was very lethargic.  A quick trip to the vet and a dose of some kind of eye drops turned things around pretty quickly.

My current cat has had gingivitis her whole kittenhood and it has continued into young adulthood. i kind of wonder about FIV too although it could simply be feline juvenile stomatitis which is an autoimmune condition.  The dentist was hopeful she would grow out of it with a cleaning + vigilent home care but I'm starting to lose hope and think that she may be facing a full mouth extraction in the near future.

Adopted in Lubbock, TX. I reached out to the humane society I adopted her through. Hoping they held on to her records because I'm afraid I might have lost my copies.

Hopefully, they'll have them. Our shelter keeps records on all the cats they adopt out in case they are returned later.
