Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday!

So, as many of us in the Northern Hemisphere are settling into cold weather cozy food season....

What is your favourite soup? Least favourite?

I enjoy a well made chicken noodle soup and bisque.  I also enjoy Pho, Ramen, Miso and Kimchi. Vegetable soup can be really nice, but I can be really picky about it and have preferred types and makes.

While not favourites, they are likable (And my mom makes them! and makes them really well) Cream of broccoli, pumpkin or asparagus. So honourable mentions there.

Least favourite.....pea soup

I'd say my favorite is won ton. I also like a good chicken noodle, cream of mushroom with extra mushrooms, Italian wedding soup and Progresso's Chickarina is very good.  I also like tomato if it's made with milk and there is a well done grilled cheese samwich on the side.
The tomato soup CANNOT be chunky.

I don't eat much soup. It rarely gets cold enough here. When I do crave soup 9 times out of 10 I will go to my favorite Chinese place and get their won ton.

Least favorite? Minestrone and Campbell's tomato rice. It sounds like it should be good but it is awful.

My favorites would be Minestrone and Chicken Noodle.

The one I really dislike and won't eat is clam chowder.  Either kind New England or Manhattan  I don't like things like clams, oysters or mussels.

Oh...Another with multiple answers!  I love hot and sour soup.  And corn chowder.  Cream of potato.  Apple-pumpkin bisque. Homemade chicken and rice.  Beef vegetable.  Um...there are some more. but those are the top of the list.

Least favorite?  Anything with fish or seafood in it.  I don't do fish, or most other seafood, except for shrimp.  Occasionally lobster.  Clams IF they are fried, same with scallops...but NONE of them should come near me in soup form.

I love soup!

I make several really good ones from scratch. Fav is turkey soup after Thanksgiving.

I also made great split pea soup with ham.

Basic chicken (with matzoh balls if that time of year) and veggie soups too.

Oh and onion soup with lots of cheese and croutons, yum!

Commercial I prefer Progresso - almost all are darn good.  I'm also a sucker for Campbell's original chicken noodle soup. Sometimes that just hits the spot like nothing else.

Love all types of Chinese soups from won ton to hot and sour.  Really like most Asian style soups of all kinds.

Last are the cream soups; broccoli, potato, pumpkin, chowders, etc. in various incarnations.

Did I mention I really enjoy soup?

I like soup! :D I eat a lot of canned soup, probably too much sodium but oh well. Almost all Progresso flavors are pretty good. I like their chicken cheese enchilada best. Also lentil and minestrone. I've tried other brands of those flavors and they just don't do it for me. So I can't just say "I like lentil soup" because there are definitely some I don't like. I also like a good loaded baked potato soup. I haven't found a brand of that flavor that I don't like. I also like miso soup.

As for soups I don't like, hmm. . .it really depends on the brand. Some I like, some I don't like, even if they're supposedly the same ingredients. I don't really like seafood chowders though.

I enjoy a well made chicken noodle soup and bisque. I also enjoy Pho, Ramen, Miso and Kimchi.
Gasp! There's a kimchi soup? I need to find a place that sells that soon!

I could never pick one.  Both my Grandmothers always made soup.  I think my favs are Italian Wedding Soup, New England Clam Chowder and Pea Soup. Cream of Crab too.  But really I like most soup unless the chicken in it is that dry texture some canned soups manage.  (Gross!)  It just depends on my mood.  Sometimes I want a good chicken broth and sometimes I want it hearty and a vegetable or beef base.

Indeed there is! I think it's official/translated title is Kimchi guk, or Kimchi jjigae for a more stew like form.

Mom's homemde soups
They're soups typically made in her native country. Most of Mom's soups are veggie based. I also love Mom's homemde congee / rice porridge. I don't care for Mom's vesion of won ton soup. The won ton filling of pork and shrimp is dry and tasteless and the soup part is just a can of chicken broth

I stick with Campbells Chunky for store bought soup. I never stray far from good old chicken noodle. I have never liked Progresso soups. Too tinny tasting, IMO.

Hot and sour is my favorite. Also just about anything Campbell's. I had Beef and Barley today.

I also make my own split pea soup and navy bean soup. Something always seemed to be missing in them until I looked up various recipes on the Internet. Most of the recipes called for marjoram or thyme, so I added a half teaspoon of both. Voila! The missing ingredients!

I love soup. My favourite is Italian wedding. I also love potato soup, broccoli, sausage and quinoa, turkey, french onion, all different kinds of chowder...etc

The only kind I don't really like is cream of mushroom but only ate as a soup. I use it in recipes all the time.

My favorite is probably tomato. Chicken and homemade dumpling soup is also a favorite of mine.

Least favorite split pea and ham soup. My parents love it - I just can't.

One of the reason I love the fall is that it is soup season. My favorite is Loaded potato. Then it would be broccoli cheese. I love my home made veggie corned beef soup. I also like cabbage roll soup. I use ground turkey in that. I also do a chicken stew where I ladle it over a hot biscuit.

My favorite can soups is Progresso, it's on sale this week at Kroger with the Mega savings event. Subway and Bob Evans have great soups.

I really love home made soups. My favourite at the moment is kabocha and onion, but I like spinach soup too. Just love that really rich, green colour.

Least favourite is anything out of a can. I can taste the can, no matter how good the soup is.

New England clam chowder, chicken tortilla or french onion if eating out. If home made, lentil and sausage or Portuguese kale soup.

I used to really like the weight watchers 0 point soup; (made with cabbage), until I came down with microscopic colitis..now, I cannot eat any of it....

The same with another soup I used to make in the winter...
