Hi. Both my beloved cats were diagnosed with CKD within a month of each other. They are both rescue cats, although to be honest, they've rescued me - I don't know how I'll cope without them. Both had grade 2 heart murmurs when i adopted them, so i assumed I'd lose them to that.

I've seen a lot of lab results posted, but many of the don't seem too bad - maybe early stage CKD? I'm curious to know what the highest creatinine levels are.

Bluebell got ill relatively suddenly, and her levels were the highest levels the vet had ever seen. She was fine with the spot test done a month earlier. She also has high blood sugar (pre-diabetic), so I wonder if that diluted her blood chemistry until she crashed? They are both indoor cats, so no chance of being poisoned.

IV fluid didn't work. Sub's didn't work. Bluebell is losing more fluid than she can take in. I think this will be my last night with her. So sad right now.

I'm so sorry about your kitty Bluebell - sweet name by the way.  Hugs!

IV fluids usually take longer than y hours to do the trick when they are in crisis, although with heart issues as well,it's very tricky.

How is your other cat doing?

If this is Bluebell's final night, just give her all the loving she wants, and then tomorrow give her all the LOVE you have and let her go as your heart breaks.  It's the greatest gift you can give.  I know, I've been there with my three kidney cats, and I know that stephanietx had at least one kidney cat herself.
