So my cat came home about 20 minutes ago after being gone for 2 months and a half. After feeding him I gave him a bit of a check up. He has a hard stiff stomach. What could this be?

Thanks

He could have picked up worms. Take him to the vet tomorrow and have him checked out. Take a stool sample with you.

He hasn't got a swollen stomach though, just stiff, could he just be hungry?

His stomach would be flaccid if he were just hungry. I adopted a rescue that was overweight, and her stomach was rigid, too, but that was because of the fat. I don't see how that could be your problem unless someone took him in and overfed him for two months. Is he skinny other than the stomach?

He is skinnier than when he left. He was quite a big cat. He seems quite relaxed and has eaten.

No telling what he's been eating.  I'd definitely get him to the vet for a good checkup and to test for worms.

I can't take him until Thursday as I have work. Do you think it will be okay to wait until then?
