I just purchased some PURE BALANCE STARTERS at WALMART.  I thought that I would give my kitties a little treat.  Actually, when I picked them up I

thought that they were a well balanced cat food for everyday feeding.  I was wrong.  After reading the label I realized that this product is a TREAT and not

a complete meal. The label states that it is to be used as a supplemental food along with a well balanced cat food.  I was really disappointed because my

pets LOVED IT!!  They both gobbled it down in about 30 seconds.  It's made in Thailand and distributed by Walmart.  It did not list a manufacturer.  I'd

like to see some additional info on this product In the future.

The regular Pure Balance dry and cup foods appear to be complete diets: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/307573/question-on-pure-balance-bran

A look at the Wal Mart size and checking the cup and dry foods shows that they are all complete balanced diets with vitamins and minerals: https://www.walmart.com/c/brand/pure-balance-cat-food

It looks like the Pure Balance Starters have been discontinued but may still be available in stores: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pure-Balance-Starters-Treats-Cats/121216048 And yes, the Starters are only treats so they are fine to give on occasion.

It's a good idea to read the label of any new cat food that catches your eye to see if it is a complete balanced diet or a supplement / treat
If you're unsure after reading the label, either put off buying the food until you can find some more info about the product online or use it only as a treat. Generally if there are no vitamins and minerals listed in the ingredient list, then it is a supplement / treat.

Thank you for providing the exact information that brought me to this site.  The STARTERS are new to me and have been on our Walmart shelves for only about a

week.  I haven't yet seen the PURE BALANCE CUPS but will keep an eye out for them.  Thank you again.

I too bought the Pure Balance Starters, then realized they are only a treat. I am so sorry to see that they've been discontinued. My cat is so so finicky, and he eats every bite of the Starters. My local Walmart is still selling them, I'm going to go back and stock up anyway, just for treats. If only there was a balanced wet cat food he liked this much!
