Murphy snuggled me almost all night last night.  He had his head on my arm and was snuggled into my chest.  I just love listening to him purr himself to sleep.  It just gets softer and softer until the purr turns into little kitty snores.

I'm trying to make an argument that half of the bed must be enough, you are such a small being, but I'm loosing that argument heavily, so new tactic is to wait until they decide it is time for snack and I get to steal warm bed to myself, for that short moment until there are several potato bags on my chest, heaviest is 15 pounds currently.

Last night my 6.6 bags of potatoes  settled down on top of me but since he's so big only his head really fit and it must not weigh any more than Joey does.  That was the dog of course.  Then he got hot and moved so Joey came up with me again.

Last night I ended up with 3 of them sleeping on my side, which made turning over a chore. I had to wait for them to move with me as I turned.  The night before Spencer was funny. He didn't want to sleep on me, but wanted to snuggle at my shoulders. Poppy had that spot and was sleeping. Spencer would walk up me like I was a sidewalk, sit down on me and stare at Poppy for a bit and then go back to the foot of the bed disgusted. He did this about 5 times before I fell back asleep. I don't know if he ever got his spot.

Here's another conundrum.  Now your cat(s) and you are cozily snuggled up in bed, what happens when you have to get up in the middle of the night?  How do you do it without disturbing the cat so much he leaves?
Either DH or I get up at least once during the night but no problem for Carleton - he steals our spot in bed and we gently try to move him over.
Funny thing is when we adopted him the first thing DH said was, "I hope he'll sleep in bed with us."  Little did he know he'd be giving up his pillow!

I've always wanted a cat who would let me hug on him/her all night like a teddy bear.  But Murphy is the first one who has ever liked that.  Connor and Mickey will sleep touching me, but not with me holding them.  And Mickey still won't join us in bed at night.

You would love my Shortstack!  He is my Velcro cat.  We always joke about buying an infant snuggli thing so I can just strap him to me.  He is a hugger, and gets his feelings hurt when I put him down.

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
woke up with miss Honeybee curled up between my legs.
she must have liked the indent it makes because I stick my feet out of the blanket and there's room in the middle of the legs to curl up. she must have been squished curled up in a ball but she was sleeping soundly this morning after the alarm went off for the fourth time and I didn't want to disturb said bag of potatoes that were keeping my legs warm.

In better days, when the furmily was larger and we lived in a place where there was snow and cold, there would sometimes be 10 on the bed
Now, with only 3, 2 sleep with me and it would be 3, but my feral girl will not let the guy sleep with us.

I have 20+ cats and our winters get very cold. I sometimes wake up completely numb from the waist down because they're all lying on top of me and they've cut off the circulation to my legs. Not funny when it's cold and dark and you really need to pee but you daren't risk the stairs until you can move your legs again.

I'm amazed of how many cats you can fit into your beds, I'm starting to have difficulties getting into bed when two of mine has taken bed as theirs, it is no use to try to move them, overcooked pasta comes to mind, it is very difficult to move that heavy completely relaxed cat.

Slipping under is no go either, that results usually velcro effect to be activated.

It does not help that one insists having her cardboard box on leg end of the bed...
