Cute thread, I love when Midi joins me at bed time. I sleep much better even though I end up all contorted because he finds some way to take up the whole bed. I call him the "bed bully"  If I spend too many days at home i.e. vacation days he sometimes will spend the whole night on the couch; I guess there is a limit as to how much of me he can take lol

I have two bed-hoggers, but only one is a snuggler. The other one just wants his space.

One 18 pounds and the other is 13.  When the 18 pounder stretches out between mine and hubby's feet, it's like sleeping with a Labrador retriever in the bed!

It's real fun when the chubbers decides to come lounge across my chest, but thank goodness that's rare--he is a leg snuggler usually, if at all on me.  He prefers hubby to lounge on.

Usually I go to sleep every night with the 13 pound one on my chest, nose to my face.  He dozes a while, then when I go to sleep, he jumps down to do his important secret cat business throughout the house, and returns to nest at my feet after I have gone back to sleep.

Chubby sleeps on hubby most of the night, but they both sleep so dead to the world it doesn't bother them at all.  They have some sort of system worked out apparently.

My guy has decided to sleep above my head on the pillow, or directly on the pillow next to my head..

When I turn over, he gets upset!!

He wants that pillow for himself!!

Last night, Artie was above my head, but I guess I turned and became too close to him. He placed his paw on my head, and his head was on top of his paw!!

Crazy cat!!  first time he ever did that...

and he woke me up this morning...with a meow in the face!!

It's like that here, too, minus canine.  I could not sleep without my beloved cats!  There are only 3 now, and no particularly large ones, but they get the job done.  I always long for cool weather because that's what I prefer, not least because I get more CATS at night.

You do this, too?  I thought I was the only one.

My Savanna does the same and she's pretty hefty at 10 yrs of age, the worst is i have asthma and so she wants to knead into my throat and i can't breath so i gently move her paws a bit. Then little Bubby wants to be close to mom too so he's at my feet or up on my shoulder. its so cute!  gotta love them, the other 3 do their own thing.

Spice on my chest, Julie in my lap, Sheba by my left shoulder playing with my hair and Sugar on my right side by my knees under the covers waiting to grab anything that moves.

This is how a typical night starts, but in the morning I usually have Julie and Sheba by my left shoulder and Sugar and Spice are in windows watching birds and rabbits.

Oh yep you are definitely not the only one.

Honeybee usually hops up on my chest around 9ish and stays a few hours. She rolls with me if I roll over. Jon took pictures of her with my arm on top of her head and she snoring away. One day I slept on my back and she was tucked into the crook of my arm=all scrunched up but her bushy tail was curled across my belly. Her paws were up and bent like a rabbit. Cutest thing I have ever seen. She is HOT. I don't need blankets with her. She has her special red velvet blanket and that's all I sleep with. With my feet out and she on my chest/belly. In the summer she is not on me as much unless I have the ac on COLD. In the winter I like the heat down to 60 so she will snuggle.

Last night she slept under the covers with Jon. He said he covered her up and she had her nose sticking out. and he was playing with her tail and fell asleep. Some time in the night he woke up and her nose was against his thigh and tail in his face
She is a strange cat. Sometime she sleeps with us-other times she does what someone said above "super secret nighttime cat sleuth activities."

I'm right there with you on that one.  I love going to sleep listening to purrs.  This morning John put Mickey on the floor and I asked him why he didn't like the purring and he said something about not being able to sleep with the excessive vibrations and I'm just like, you're a weirdo and went back to sleep.  I didn't get my Murphy and Connor cuddles last night cuz I had to keep MIckey shut in the bedroom away from the food and water.
When I'm not home at night my other family members have the same reaction when my cats use them to fill their cuddle quota. I guess we're just biased.

I'm about ready to try that hiss.  I can't stand anything to touch my face or head when I'm trying to sleep.  And even if I shove the cat away, he reaches out a front leg just to touch me.

Sometimes when he's being really aggravating, I'll pick him up and (gently) toss him to the foot of the bed.  He gives the weirdest meow as I'm maneuvering my hands to safely move him.  It's the same meow as when I roll over and disturb the pillows without even touching him, so it's clearly a protest meow.  Every time my husband hears that meow, he says "You're hurting him!"  Even when I'm not touching him, just rolling over, my husband says that.  Maybe I should hiss at the husband too, lol.

Dotie my Rex that is almost hairless insist on being under covers next to my feet because she gets cold. Forget getting up to pee either she hisses at me or hisses and grabs my feet..lucky no claws. Then if I make it out of bed she follows me to bathroom and waits for me to go back to bed. Then she must eat just about time I fall to sleep she jumps on bed by my head and starts digging to get under covers. I must lift covers so she can get under then she finally finds my feet and goes to sleep....

That sounds so adorable! Or at least adorably annoying. I've never met a Rex, but they seem like they're full of a personality.

We do have some bag of potatoes going on here too. A 13 pound one. Sparrow loves to get on John's chest at night. With me, he chooses my back. I'm fine with it, it usually doesn't even wake me up, except when he decides it's more fun to JUMP on my back directly from the floor, instead of going on the bed first.

My late Kyran was a different story. He quickly understood that if he was at my feet, I was not going to move, even if I was sleeping, because I knew he was there, so he stopped going on John's feet. He then discovered that the same held true if I was spooning him under the covers. It can be quite chilly in the early morning, so he would paw at my lips to wake me up. I then would lift the covers for him to get under, and we would both go back to sleep. Towards the end, he was even using my upper arm as a pillow. That from a cat that no one else but us could approached, and scared the hell out of the vets and vet techs at the clinic when he was hospitalized for 3 days... Ah, cats
