I woke up to Sascha having issues breathing. I had her at the vet being looked at within an hour. She was having an asthma attack. She has never shown symptoms of asthma, one of her sons has asthma so I know what to look for. The vet was unable to incubate her as she was too swollen, but they administorered meds via iv and had her in the breathing chamber with 100%, oxygen. She passed 2 hours later from cardiac arrest. I am so lost and heartbroken. She was the most perfect baby girl and the best Momma in the world. I adopted her when she was just turning one and she had two baby boys less then a month later (had no idea she was pregnant). I had her for 10.5 years. I will be taking in her other son, who is also showing no signs of asthma, into the vet to have him checked out for asthma. I had posted pics of her and her babies on here 10.5 years ago when they were born, I wonder if they are still on here somewhere. This happened on Wed. 11/2/16, I received her ashes back yesterday.

Nothing new is in my house, nothing makes sense how this could have happened.

Sascha Marie is at peace knowing she was so very loved, and having you to watch over her son and giving him comfort. Age may have been a factor, her heart just couldn't handle the additional stress. She knew you were helping her and felt your love and concern, Our hearts are so broken when they leave us, the emptiness in our homes is unbearable at times. But her presence is strong through the bond you formed over all those years, and although her life's journey must take that fork in the road, she will always be on a path that parallels yours. Use that bond to receive her love, let that and your precious memories comfort you in your time of grief. She loves you way too much for you to be so sad on her passing, she only wants happiness and sunshine in your life, as you would want fro her. Celebrate having her in your life, she gave you much, it would have been tragic to have never known her at all. Please know I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, time is the great healer and only time helps to heal a broken heart. Take care.......RIP sweet Sascha Marie, your bright star that shines in the heavens will forever shine down on those you love, let that pure light that is your love light the path of those you love and miss so very much. May your dreams be full of those you love, sleep tight little princess!

Thank you for the kind responses. I am so heartbroken and empty. I have her two sons and two other cats. I don't want to feel like this, it literally feels like I'm a lost soul. I lost my mom 4 years ago and my brother 6 and lost 5 babies during pregnancy. The cats were my replacement babies and were there through my mom and brother. I just have to get used to a new normal.

So very sorry to hear of this and all your many other losses, my gosh that is so much to have to deal with in this life! Things like this unfortunately happen, we lost Skipper in July and he looked just like your Sascha Marie, all black with gold eyes, and he also seemed fine except one day he just started crying a lot, we caught him to take him to the vet which wasn't easy, they checked him out, thought MAYBE he had a UTI, sent him home and the next day he died, possibly brain anuerysm or heart attack, we also were shocked and we, like you, did all that could be done. Sometimes cats and people have a sudden and catastrophic thing happen and they pass quickly, which I guess is better than a long, lingering illness, but it is still so devastating and your heart is broken and you feel like you yourself will die, but time and love heals all.

I am sorry for your sudden loss and ALL your losses, God Bless......
