How do I protect sticthes in my cats neck if she can't wear a dish or sweater?

Hi,

My cat had surgery yesterday. She had a mass at her right lymph node that had to be removed. They went in vertical like on her neck and it's stitched up about 2 inches. Because of where it is, I can't use a dish or one of those air dishes to keep her from licking it. So I tried a turtle neck sweater and that worked for about an hour but then she started reaching down to chew on it...It got caught on her teeth and pulled on her neck. I also tried a cut tube sock but nothing is working! I'm also concerned about the fabric pulling on one of the stitches.  I'm worried that she'll lick or even scratch her stitches out!  Does anyone have any advice? I'd greatly appreciate it!

They thought that the sweater would work but it's not working. I'm thinking of using a sweater and then the air cone around that...I'm just concerned she'll hurt herself or the cone will hurt her, especially where she's stitched up

You can always ask for the vet to wrap it up really well with gauze and then that wrap that sticks to itself. Unless the vet wants to let it air out. That kept my Tater Tot from pulling out the stitches for his feeding tube.

Haven't tried it myself, but bitter apple on the sweater? I know people use bitter apple sprays to keep their pets from licking and chewing stitches and bandages.
