Been caring for a 2 year old stray male for about 12 months. He remains outdoors and this summer displayed fleas and many red bumpy spots on belly skin. I treated him with Capstar and found the fleas to be gone in short order (about 6 weeks). I added a flea collar. However, he still has some of these bumps (though less) and I am wondering if the fleas simply continue. I don't see any fleas or excessive scratching. I have ordered a second bottle of Capstar. Suggestions welcomed.

Note...he does not care for topical sprays.

Red bumps on his tummy could even be an allergy to grass or things like that.  It's really hard to say.  But if they are localized like that, I'd say perhaps they are more a skin allergy rather than fleas.  It's just hard to know.  You could try giving him a portion of an allergy pill to try to figure it out.

My second bottle of Capsatr arrived. I suppose I have it purely for precautionary reasons. Since it works quickly I wonder if it is necessary to administer 'every' day. Can I get away doing it every three days? I know it kills adult fleas each day it is given...so if the eggs/larvea are not yet hatched I think spacing it out should be a good thing...Any suggestions.
