Esmes vet appt is tomorrow. This morning I noticed a little bit of pink in her urine. If she's not pregnant and truly in heat, is blood in the urine normal? I would think not, but before her heat symptoms I never noticed blood in her urine. Is that normal?

Yes, talk with the vet, esp as you are going there anyways. If its blood its potentially alarming.

Yes I'll definitely take a sample. From what I could tell, only a small spot in the urine clump was pink. I've heard it's unusual for young cats to get UTIs , I wonder if that's actually true.

It can be much, including a kidney infection - which need antibiotica asap.  It may of course also be something more or less harmless, so I shall not be an alarmist. But a vet check up is necessary.

Esme was spayed today! Not pregnant thankfully, she did have cysts on her ovaries. She was spayed this morning, I just picked her up and noticed she has a little blood in her urine, is this normal? My other cats never had this problem

If you still see blood in her urine after 24 hours you'll want to call the vet. How is she acting otherwise?

She's acting a little stranger than usual. I brought her to the vet this morning. I thought her incision opened because I saw puddles of pinkish blood on the floor. Her incision looked fine, it was coming from her vuvla. They gave her a shot of corvenia thinking she might have a UTI. I Dont know what else it could be otherwise, they did an ultrasound and didn't see any fluid or free floating blood or anything. She's got a low temperature, I'm assuming from the anesthesia, but I'm not sure how long it'll last for. None of my other cats had any of these problems! Her temp was 99.3. Vet told me to keep watch and bring her back in if she doesn't get better. Before she was spayed she was urinating quite a bit, now it's just little amounts and she was laying In her litterbox. She did eat a small amount though. I'm at a loss, I guess I'll just keep a close eye on her. Thanks for responding I appreciate it

If she's no better tomorrow, and still passing pink liquid from her vulva, please call the vet again. It does sound like an infection of some sort. I hope she is better soon. This is concerning!

Yay for not being pregnant! Sounds like she has an infection to me too... How is she doing this morning?

She's doing a little better, I haven't noticed as much blood as before, although her urine still has a little in it. She still lays in her litter box for a few minutes at a time. She's eating, albeit not as much as she usually does. I'm inclined to think that being spayed aggravated her bladder and made her uti worse. I did notice that before her surgery she was urinating more than she should have been. Hopefully the antibiotic injection is helping her. As soon as she's better I have to find a home for her. Hopefully I'll be able to. I'd really like to keep her but I think my existing cats would claw me to death if I brought them another sister. (I have six cats, five girls one boy) I'm already trying to integrate a stray cat I adopted into my existing brood, I don't think their nerves (or mine)could handle another one.

Glad she's better, but she does not sound well to me, and in fact, she sounds like she feels bad. If she's not improved by Monday, I suggest calling the vet. They might want to change her medicine.
