since I adopted Montana  I have gave her about a half a can of canned food mixed in with her dry , she isn't to thrilled over canned food  , she took her time eating it , she loves her dry food , they were feeding her Purina One at the Humaine Society so I bought a small bag for her  but I just bought a bag of Premium Edge and want to start her on that  soon  , I was told it is really good food

does anyone feed their cat Premium Edge?

Are you mixing wet with her dry food or feeding both? I don't mix my girl's wet food with her dry they are fed in a separate dish. I have not fed that brand. I wouldn't recommend mixing wet with her dry food if you are only able to feed dry in a pinch (and can't get wet) she might not eat it without it being added.

Hi @mom of 2 cats

I haven't used that brand, but I just wanted to say it's not a good idea to mix the wet and dry together. The dry food is designed to absorb moisture and swell up inside the cat's body. If you add it to the wet it will start to swell and go soggy too soon. Also, there is a risk of bacteria growing on damp dry food if it is left out too long.

There is nothing wrong with feeding wet and dry, but I suggest you give her one meal of wet and then another of dry rather than mixing the two together.

One thing you could try is putting a few freeze dried treats over her wet food to see if that will entice her to eat.

I agree that you will probably get the best results by not mixing wet and dry.  Your girl seems similar to my cat.  My girl exclusively ate kibble at the rescue shelter and that's what she still  prefers today, even though there are some wet recipes that she devours.  We started on Purina One Kitten and Rachael Ray Nutrish, but moved on to other recipes to avoid corn, wheat and soy.
