Hi, my 4 month old kitten recently has seemed odd. Last night she was like blowing her nose (not with a tissue obviously) and her nose was wet and she was breathing really loud when asleep. This morning she woke up and was making a throwing up sound. She didn't throw up though. Now also recently when she enters the bathroom to use the litter box she like meows I don't know if shes constipated because she doesn't even step in the box she just goes near it and is meowing. She is very hyper and eating well. Also every time after she eats her stomach makes a humph sound. Should I see the vet or Am I just being paranoid?

I'm a firm believer that if your gut instinct tells you something is not quite right that it's better to be safe than sorry. I would take her to the vet. Sometimes being vocal before using the litter can be a UTI for wee's or pain for poops. How is her nose now? It is possible she just got into some dust or something and it bothered her nose, if it's still not right though I would definitely get it checked.

I do not think you are being paranoid at all.  Has she gone to the bathroom at all since you posted this?  Is she still meowing when she goes into the room to use the litter box.  If this is still happening then I would take her to the vet for an exam.  If you are worried about funds being an issue check and see if there are any vets in your area that do free first exams for new clients.  If this were my baby I would take her to the vet.  It is possible she is meowing because she has a urinary tract infection (UTI) and it is causing her pain.  This is not a difficult issue to treat. To check for a UTI the vet takes a urine sample from the cat. I went through this with one of my cats who is an adult.  He was put on antibiotics and things went back to normal.  Also please check to make sure she is not going somewhere else.  When my cat had his UTI he let us know it by peeing on a chair right in front of us.  Other than that he was acting completely normal.  One of my friends also went through this with her cat and he was displaying the meowing behavior you mentioned.

Has the kitten's breathing returned to normal yet? If it has then she may have just been playing somewhere dusty. If the breathing has not returned to normal then that is another issue that I would go to a vet for.  If you can try to record some video of her breathing to take to the vet in case things change when she gets there. This could be the beginning of a Upper Respiratory Infection (URI). Sometimes this requires antibiotics too.  This is also a very treatable issue.

As for the noises with her stomach that one has me stumped.  If you are going to take her to the vet you can ask them about it.

Thank you for your answer. I have a vet appointment with her next week. She hasn't been meowing anymore but today I was cleaning her litter box and saw smeared blood on the corner I don't think it was from her feces because there was no feces in that area.
