howcome whenever i try to groom my cat, she just sniffs the brush for thirty minutes, then when i brush her again she goes back to sniffing it. The kittens love it,its just the grown ones, why are they doing this?!

Probably checking her scent. Is it her own personal brush?
IF you are using the same brush on all of them, she is probably smelling the kittens. If not, I think that it is easier to get cats used to being brushed if you start from the time they are kittens. That's what I did with mine. Now, they looking forward to their combing everyday. If I don't do it, they chase me around the house and meow at me until I do. If the older one is not used to it, she may just be showing a little displeasure with the whole thing!
