Processed Meat Too Dangerous For Consumption

I know the majority of processed meat for humans has nitrites in them, they are super bad for you. I eat tons of processed meat but don't eat nitrites. I'm pretty sure cat food doesn't have them either, I've never seen any bad ingredients like that on a can.

Processed meats usually refers to heavily salted and preserved meats like hot dogs and cold cuts (the article is talking about nitrates so that's probably what they mean). Most cat foods shouldn't have nitrates, although I did notice that some canned dog foods that have bacon as an ingredient do have nitrates. I don't think there are any bacon cat foods though! Anyway, always read the ingredients.

Bottom line: generally speaking, cat food isn't processed in the way they're talking about.
