Found cat dead

Unfortunately, after a week of her missing, we found our one year old cat laying dead in the woods. She had no marks or wounds, just laying there. What was the cause? She was a bit thin and had a swollen eye but nothing was too alarming and she acted normal. Did she know she was going to die?

Sorry for your loss Unfortunately no one here can tell you how your cat died out in the woods. The outdoors has so many dangers to cats: poisonous chemicals and other hazards, wildlife, feral and stray cats, sick Humans who like to torture animals, tainted scraps of food, etc. A necropsy done by a vet may shed some light as to how your cat died.
