My cats poop stinks! Part of the trouble is one of them will not cover their poop. the whole house stinks when when whoever doesn't cover goes.
They used to eat canned but it got too expensive, so then I mixed canned and dry. The last type of canned I got they wouldn't eat. I really don't have the money to waste on trying a lot of canned. I would like to go back to half and half but I would have to go slow and buy one can at a time to see what they will eat.
Do you know what ingredients may cause an issue and make them so stinky? Their food now is grain free and the first ingredient is chicken.

There's many reasons their poop can stink. It never smells nice, especially if you have one opposed to burying (I feel your pain on that one!). Different litters seem to be less absorbent to odours than others too. I find natural litters seem to keep the smell in the best as opposed to clay based one's.

Generally cheaper foods will smell worse than dearer one's but every kitty is different. My female for example has an intolerance to chicken so anything with chicken comes out smelling horrendous. And anything with more than one meat (Dine, Fancy feast) are terrible for her. My boy on the other hand goes well with the much hated Hills and Royal Canin foods but anything else seems to make him pretty stinky too.

From my experience, dry food is basically a recipe for stinky poo! I say this and I still give my cats and kittens the occasional dry food when I'm in a rush and can't prepare food for them. Have you considered making homemade cat food? It can be much cheaper if you shop carefully for chicken gizzards and such and you can prepare ahead and freeze it in containers and thawing each container a day ahead.
