Hi all, I have not been here in a while because of my divorce and all that other fun stuff, But I just moved into a new apartment and 2 of my three cats are fine, but Kramer my 1 yr old male does not seem to be adjusting all that well, He stays up all night and there is a panel on my bedroom wall that he is trying to get behind and he will not give up he stands there and scratches the door for hours and he won't stop for anything, I looked and there is nothing back there but pipes for the bathroom, and I sprayed some pet stuff that is supposed to take away any scents that may be attracting him, But he still scratches at that door. Also he has never been very affectionate, but lately he has been following me around and tripping me, I keep stepping on his poor tail and he is not going to have any fur on it before long, lol. He also won't let me take a shower in peace, he stands outside of the shower curtain and moews really loudly. Oh yeah and when he is weaving in and out between my legs as I walk if I stoop to pet him he tries to bite me. Does anyone have any advice as to what is going on with him. I really don't have any money to take him to the vet right now, I have to ake my geriatric ferret, and I still can not find a job and my (ex)husband has cut me off from the checking account because he claims I am no longer his responsability, So I have about $200 in the bank until I can find a job!

Moving is stressful on us, and on our pets. They are suddenly in an upheaval and they can sometimes stress themselves out enough to be sick. Is he using the litter pan without a problem, and eating and drinking okay? Is there something wrong with letting him back in that section he wants to explore? It could be there is a mouse back there and he just wants to get back and catch it and then he might be appeased? Just a suggestion. We have a closet upstairs that the cats go nuts over every once and awhile, and it leads to underneath the roof. I had my reservations about letting the cats in there, but periodically I do, and they go exploring and come back and they are fine.

His wanting to be close to you is just an anxiety issue. You might want to check out the Bach's Nature Remedys and get him started on Vervain or something to take the edge off. Also try burning a night light in the rooms he goes in at night and see if that stops his crying.

Good luck, I hope he is not sick

thank you for your advice, I am not sure if letting him back into that section would be harmful or not, I know that it is all of the piping for the bathroom, but i can not see all of the way in there and do not want to take the chance of him getting hurt. Also yes he is eating and drinking ok, he still plays with the other cats and everything just the few weird things that i mentioned.
