I have a silly question for you today....

Do you match and fold your socks?

I don't usually.  The most I might do is match and then stack by style.  Normally I just toss them in a basket. My husband's work socks get separated from his regular ones; but still not actually matched and folded. I wash my kids socks in those net garment style bags made for washing delicate items.  It works well to keep small socks together.  (Although those socks are getting bigger and bigger!)  I usually just dump the bag in their dresser drawer but the other day I went in DD's room to find she had sorted a bunch of her socks on top of her tall dresser  They were sitting there laid out as matched pairs.  I don't know what made her do it.  But if she wants to keep it up I'm more than happy to let her take care of it!

I buy black ankle socks only so I don't have to worry about odd ones. Fold? No.

I match mine I don't fold them but do put them together. We keep the mix matched socks for me to make cat toys or fill them with rice for a heat source for kittens.

NO! I have enough to do. All of my socks are the same and I just put them in my dresser and I take them out of the dryer.

Geez, am I the only OCD person around here?!!
I have always matched socks AND folded them together right out of the dryer. My socks are not all the same, although my husbands are, and I don't want to take the time later to sort through the drawer full to find a matching pair. I guess it's a matter of take the time now or take it later. (good thing you all don't see my shelves of canned goods all lined up and in order!!!)

My socks are matched, folded and colour coded. White on one side of the drawer, black on the other and all the coloured pairs arranged in between. Ask me how many categories of towels I have!

@Margd, oh how cute!!!!

For walking and exercise, I wear only Gold Toe white socks. For work and for casual, I wear only Gold Toe black socks. Easy to match, and yes, I do fold them before putting them into my bureau drawer. I also fold my underwear....makes Dear Richard spastic. (My mother taught me well; she was really big on folding clothes properly.)

@Norachan, there is only one way to fold towels in this house. They have to fit in their spots and in order to fit properly, they can only be folded one way. And again, it makes Rick crazy. As mentioned above, I am my mother's daughter.

Before I saw your reply, I thought I was the only OCD person here. I too have always matched and folded my socks together after I take them out of the dryer. And any that are the same colour (i.e. black) I try to match pairs by the shade or faded-ness of the colours.

My canned goods are all organized too and my cds and dvds all in alphabetical order, and ... well you get the point.

I use to try to put my can foods in alphabetical order but that use to drive me crazy to keep it organized. So now I have mine arranged to what we use the most and I have my order for everything. It drives me crazy when Larry tries to help and just throws things in there. Thankfully Aiden is young enough that he has learned my system. The sad part is he is like me and it drives him crazy if things aren't in the right place. The difference between the two of us is I quietly put it back where it goes. Aiden throws a fit and shows you where to put it. I dread when he gets older because he's doing this at four how will he be at 14.

I match and roll up my socks. When I was growing up, my mother just threw them in a drawer together, and I spent way too much time and effort trying to find a matching pair. So as an adult, I've always matched and rolled, so the pairs can't get separated.

I'm not particularly organized or tidy, but i do match my socks and fold my undies! I don't have time to rummage around looking for a match in the mornings. I don't fold my summer socks because I wear little no-show ankle socks so there's nothing to fold over, but I do fold my wool winter socks. I HATE rolling socks together because that always stretches one sock out. Nope.

I match my socks before they go in the drawer.  I didn't until I had kids.  I have 3 stair step kids who are grown now but when they were little keeping up with socks was a chore.  I got in the habit of matching them when they came out of the dryer and I have just continued doing that.

We ball our socks rather than fold them (and yes, I know it's bad for them, but we're creatures of habit ;) ), and they always get matched up straight out of the dryer. We have a bag of odd socks too, and check through it if we find any singles. It never ceases to amaze me how many socks seem to vanish into thin air :lol3:

P.S. everybody. Rolling or balling socks doesn't stretch them anymore. That was years ago before they put spandex in socks.

LOL..I went through a phase where I matched EVERYTHING!  I threw out an entire wardrobe and replaced it with black.  From the skin out.  I wasn't making a statement or going goth, I just wanted to simplify my life.  And all of my socks were the same, because I am not a shoe person.  Well...there were two types of socks.  Black trouser socks for dressier occasions, and black ankle socks for everyday.  I still have all of them, and they are still the only socks I have.  ALL the trousers match, and ALL the ankles match.  No hassle there.
