I wanted to stop in and introduce myself, I've been stalking your wonderful forum for month now. Trying to soak it all in!
I have 5 dogs (2danes, a husky, corgi and yorki) my boyfriend and I are very involved with the local Humane group with my oldest Dane being their ambassador. Recently we were involved with a house that needed to relinquish many animals due to being unable to provide food for themselves or their pets. The owner requested to relocate 10 cats, some of which were feral, the rest indoor/outdoor. Nobody had foster room, they pound was overly full so it came down to euthnize the cats or let them starve and continue risk of being hit on road (many already had) so... We now have 6 foster cats in an empty hous, where we esplit half of our free time with this group and half with our house dogs.We will bring them into our house when we are sure they are completely healthy.
So far I have truly enjoyed getting to know these cats. I had no idea they were so much fun ! Still learning the ins and outs of cat body language and how they like to play. Lol I'm constantly being told that they are not dogs and won't come when called, but I'm darn close with one of them!
Quick introduction of the guitar heros
(Forgive me I am terrible about correct cat language)
Fender: orange tabby with huge feet! A little extra fur around his face and a longer haired tail. He is working on his recall
Squier: doppleganger to Fender. I seriously can't keep them straight yet, though Squier is more likely to hide. Once found is a sweet guy!
Gibson: gray/brown tabby. He is estimated to be 2-3, going in on Wednesday to have multiple tooth extraction, including a fang. He will also be neutered. Any tips on how the extractions will alter feeding , need special food?
Dean: gray/blue. He has a beautiful silver sheen to him. He is missing his lower incisors, and about a year old. Big head, tall and slim. An incredible climber (found him perched on the shower curtain rod)
Aria. Gray/blue with the greenest eyes. I honestly did not know a cat could have such eyes, she is gorgeous and the sweetest of them all. She will run to see us, though always in the same travel pattern (out of closet, across desk, down to nightstand then acrossthe bed to the door). They think about 3 years
Taylor: she is a sweet baby. She had terrible rodent ulcers and swollen lips. The first vet we saw refused to treat them, was more interested in vaccines and parasites. I took her to my vet and she gave her cortisone and antibiotics, only after that treatment would the poor thing eat. She is about 8 months and is 6#. She is gray and white with what I think looks like disproportionally huge eyes. She is a gem
I really think I will miss these when they find their true home!
