Older Cat Sneezing

It's a lot more than sneezing, when he sneezes his right ear makes a funny sound like when we have a cold and our ears pop his are sounding like they are hissing and it scares the bejesus out of him. Is there anything I can do for him now until I can get him to a vet..any suggestions would be great.

He's eating an drinking well...

Thank you for getting him to a vet! You can also try giving him lysine (available as chews or, cheaper, get the powdered form and mix into food). Other anti-virals are bovine colostrum (powder you can mix into food or even assist-feed with a syringe when dissolved in water), and prunella self-heal (herbal extract that doesn't taste good, so mix with something, cat dose is 8 drops per day).

Keep him warm - if this is taking longer, get him a heated cat bed - they are especially appreciated by senior cats.

Him eating is the best sign you can hope for. Cats eat only what they can smell, so best give him smelly foods to entice him. The Nutro Max brand cans have been proven quite well in this regard.

I am glad that you are taking your baby to the vet and that he is still eating. You can also try doing steam treatments. Run the shower in your bathroom as hot as you can and steam up the room. Take him in the steamy bathroom for 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a day. You can do the treatments more often if your schedule allows. Hopefully this will help break up some of the congestion. This has been very helpful with my cats.
