Hello Everyone,

My baby Liberty was spayed on Friday, October 21st at a low cost - humane society clinic.  She has been fine until yesterday when I noticed a walnut sized lump at her incision site.

She seems fine, is playing, eating, peeing, pooping and being her usual spazzy self but I'm starting to get worried.

The clinic is closed until Monday ( it's Saturday now ) and our ER vet wants $500 for us to walk in the door and have an ultrasound.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm still recovering financially from the $5000 spent last year to try and save my 9 year old furbaby from renal failure, so I don't have an extra $500 bucks laying around but I'd sell everything I have if I need to.

Thanks!

That's definitely concerning, but I think it can wait until you can get her to your vet or back to the clinic.  Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, then I'd take her in.

I'm pretty much a wait and see kind of person as long as my kitties are eating, sleeping, using the box normally.  If any of that change, then it's cause for concern.  It could even be fluid build up from the surgery and not even a hernia, but I've never experienced either after a kitty spay, so I'm really not the most qualified person to speak to that.
