My cat Blanchie went out for a walk on October 5th and I haven't seen her since. I feel awful. I got her when she was 7 weeks old after I was discharged from hospital for a major depressive episode. What are the chances I'll see her again? We had just moved to London from Cambridge a month before she went missing and she'd been going in and out for a fortnight with no problems. I plastered the entire area with posters and spoke to everyone in the street and called all the shelters and vets and even the council in case they'd picked her up but she's nowhere to be found. My parents had been saving up to renovate the house but they decided to spend the money on a pet detective instead. We got a call that on the night she went missing someone saw what looked like a dead black cat in the middle of the road near my house and a fox near by and the detective thinks it was probably her. I feel so hopeless and depressed without her. I'm in the process of contacting animal communicators but it'd be really nice if some people could just share some encouraging stories about their lost and found cats with me... I just can't get it out of my head that she was hit by a car and then ripped apart by a fox but there was no body or any sign of an accident at all. I'm just hoping and praying that it wasn't my Blanchie that was in the street that night. The detective thinks the second most likely scenario is she is in hiding because the local tom fancied her and she didn't like him back (having been spayed when she was 6 months old). Has anyone got any happy stories about cats that went walkabout for as long as mine has been gone?

Have you tried sitting outside at night or looking around in bushes or shrubs at dusk?  Another trick is to leave her litter box out.  She may be attracted to her scent.  Some people have purchased trail cameras or wireless ip cameras to see if a cat is near their home during the night.

Here are a few articles with some tips on finding a missing pet

Many of us here have lost pets throughout the years.  I have had a few feral cats disappear for up to 8 months and then return.

I am so sorry your sweet kitty is missing.  I hope that she finds her way back to you.
