Mouse sometimes has a watery eye and it comes and goes through the day.  May be conincidence when it is happening for your cat, but my other thought is maybe an alergy?

With the discharge having a brownish colour, this can be associated with feline herpes virus which something like 80% of cats have in their system but most never show any symptoms because their immune system is strong and they keep it under control - however if a cat gets stressed or is otherwise unwell it can start to show symptoms like a brownish eye discharge, sneezing or coughing?   This is what my vet thinks causes Mouse's runny eye.

I hope your cat is well and this is something happening just for a short time.  If she seems at all uncomfortable, the discharge looks milky and yellow / green at all, or is showing other signs of being unwell like the sneezing it would be best to take her along to your vet - even if she seems not to be in pain her eyes could be painful for her.  It would also be best knowing the cause so you know if any treatment is needed, or if she needs to avoid contact with something.

Psycho has the herpes and lately his left eye has been watery. I took him to our vet and he said it could be allergy too. He is not sneezing or anything else . The vet told me to put human eye drops in like for dry eye if he looks uncomfortable.
