We picked her up as a stray five weeks ago... I think her nipples are getting bigger but I cannot be sure... I haven't had a cat in a while and cannot remember what regular cat nipples look like but these seem large to me... Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

She is very likely pregnant! Can you start feeding her unlimited kitten food now?

We do not know if Kismet was pregnant when we got her, but later she definitely got pregnant and got 4 little, furry friends.

If unspayed and was outside, count on her being preg.   So continue planning on this basis.

Good luck!

They do look larger unless she has had kits and then was fixed I would think pregnant.
Can you take her to a vet de worming and vaccinations would help with the kittens health and answer your question

talkingpeanut talkingpeanut I thought it was selective like feline lukimeia yes rabies no?
To provide some protection against illness passed between cats by saliva.
I would not normaly vacinate my self during pregnacy but had the H1N1 flu vaccine ( first year of epidemic) during my last because some pregnant women were falling into comas they were so ill.
So is it your opinion that it is a bad idea or vet's don't like to or is there any research ?

Some vaccines are less dangerous, and with some the danger is great at some stages of pregnancy, but less so in other stages.

So you have right, if you do KNOW exactly what you are doing, OR in sheer emergency take a calculated risk - so be it.

But TalkingPeanut has absolutely right: be verry careful with vaccinations during pregnancy.  Dont do it if there is any doubt.  The kittens tend to be harmed if done at wrong occasion.

A good vet knows usually the ropes, the point is you must clearly ask the vet about his opinion, because if you just come with money in hand and demand vaccination, there is a big risk he does what you demand and pay for.  Not knowing the cat is pregnant...
